The Public Speaking and Storytelling Forum is Performance Strategies’ flagship event, now part of ROI Group.
An intensive day of learning and exchange designed to turn communication from a skill into a competitive advantage.
Together with some of the most authoritative voices in storytelling and communication, the event offers the opportunity to acquire the most effective tools and techniques to craft impactful speeches, , turn ideas and data into clear and memorable messages, speak in public with authority, and communicating more effectively—both inside and outside the organisation.
STEFANO MASSINI
One of the world’s most renowned Italian writers, playwrights, and storytellers, he is the first Italian to win a Tony Award, the Oscars of American theater.
The Lehman Trilogy— a family saga exploring capitalism, the financial crisis, and the American Dream—premiered in 2015 at the Piccolo in Ronconi’s final production, winning five Ubu Awards. In 2022, Sam Mendes’s Broadway production went on to win five Tony Awards, including Best Direction.
His other best-known works include 7 Minutes, adapted for the screen by Michele Placido, and Manhattan Project, which explores the creation of the atomic bomb.
He is widely known to Italian audiences for his monologues on current affairs, politics and society on Piazzapulita on La7, as well as for hosting Ricomincio da Raitre. A columnist for La Repubblica, his many awards include the Premio Tondelli in 2005 and the Grand Prix du Syndicat de la Critique in 2014.
Today, his writing is recognised as one of the most powerful ways of using storytelling to give shape and meaning to the defining issues of our time.
The Architecture of Storytelling
Building narratives that organise and reveal the deeper meaning of reality
FRANCESCO PANNOFINO
One of the most recognised performers in Italian cinema, he is the Italian voice of some of Hollywood’s most celebrated actors, from Tom Hanks and George Clooney to Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe.
A dubbing director and actor, he has built a career spanning both the recording studio and the screen, with dozens of films and numerous television series to his name. He became widely known to the general public for his role as René Ferretti, the cult character from the series Boris, which he played from 2007 to 2022, as well as in the film of the same name.
His awards include the Leggio d’Oro for Best Male Voice (2004), the Nastro d’Argento for dubbing (2005) and the Claudio G. Fava Career Achievement Award at the Festival del Doppiaggio (2018).
His career is a powerful example of how the voice, even before the face, can build credibility, recognition and a lasting connection with an audience.
The Voice That Persuades
How tone, breath and presence build authority in front of an audience
MARIANGELA PIRA
An economics journalist and one of Italy’s most influential voices on finance, geopolitics and markets.
She began her career at ANSA in New York before moving to China as a correspondent, writing for Milano Finanza, Panorama, and L’Espresso and contributing to Presa Diretta. After returning to Italy, she became Head of the China Desk at Class Editori, where she oversaw financial analysis for Class CNBC and market updates for Tg5 and Tg La7.
Today, she is a journalist and presenter at Sky TG24. Since 2018, she has hosted a daily business segment, and since 2022 she has presented the podcast #3fattori, one of Italy’s most listened-to economics podcasts.
She is the author of several books on economics for a broad audience, including 24 parole per capire l’economia. For many years, she has also worked alongside Terre des Hommes on issues relating to women’s rights and education. In collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she created and hosted Esteri News Dossier, a news programme focused on Italian diplomacy, reporting from Afghanistan, Lebanon, Iraq, Israel and Palestine.
Winner of the Premiolino journalism award in 2023, her other distinctions include the Globo per il Giornalismo and the European Parliament’s International Best Practices Award.
Communicating Complexity
Clarity that drives decisions: from information overload to messages that guide action
FABIO CARESSA
One of Italy’s most popular sports commentators, he has made technical expertise and passion the hallmarks of his unmistakable style. From Berlin 2006 to UEFA Euro 2020, his words have become part of Italy’s collective memory.
Communicating when it matters: clarity, energy, and emotion in the moment that decides everything
STEFANO MASSINI
The architecture of storytelling
A different perspective on what a story can do: not simply explain, but make people feel; bringing a crisis, an era or a decision to life in a human and compelling way.
A playwright’s perspective on storytelling: what truly holds an audience’s attention — tension, conflict and the revealing detail.
A way of giving shape to the world and making it live in other people’s minds , whether communicating a corporate vision, explaining change or introducing a new idea.
FRANCESCO PANNOFINO
A new approach to public speaking: even before the words themselves, it is the “how”— voice and presence — that creates credibility and connection.
Mastering tone, breath, pauses and posture to build authority and hold an audience’s attention, whatever the content.
An understanding that stage presence and the ability to turn technical information into a high-impact message are skills that can be developed and applied to any stage, meeting or presentation.
MARIANGELA PIRA
Communicating complexity
Practical criteria for deciding which information deserves attention and what can be filtered out, without being overwhelmed by the constant flow of information.
A new perspective on information: better decisions do not come from having more data, but from the ability to organise it and give it meaning, turning complex scenarios into a clear narrative that guides both individual and team decision-making.
Tools for balancing depth of information with communication effectiveness when addressing teams and stakeholders, while remaining accurate and direct.
FABIO CARESSA
The energy of storytelling
A different approach to preparation: what appears to be instinct and improvisation in the moment is actually the result of meticulous preparation. The detail is mastered in advance precisely so that, when the decisive moment comes, you are free to perform at your best.
Turn pressure into energy rather than being constrained by it: the adrenaline of a decisive moment becomes fuel, not an obstacle, enabling peak performance when it matters most.
An understanding that emotion, even more than content, is what makes a message resonate and endure: those who can bring people with them and create a shared sense of engagement can hold an audience from beginning to end — on the field and in business.
